About the Artist: Liz Pearse is a vocalist who explores LOTS of different ways of singing - especially experimental and contemporary genres. She has performed music from the medieval to modern eras, and loves sharing unusual, novel, and otherwise un-heard repertoire with curious audiences.
Program Description: In her Class Notes program, soprano Liz Pearse seeks to help students discover: “What is the most interesting sound you can make with your voice?” Through listening and trying out new sounds with our own voices, students will explore some of the infinite sonic possibilities of the human voice. Students will also join Liz in a discussion about the voice as a physical instrument and learn more about how it functions and allows us to communicate in many ways. With older students, Liz may also include a segment about composition through graphic notation and guided improvisation exercises.
