 Soojin Lee has played the gayageum (pronounced "Gah-yah-gum") for over 30 years. She studied gugak (Korean traditional music), specializing in gayageum performance in Korea. Since moving to Minnesota in 2011, she has continued performing and sharing gugak and the gayageum in schools, concert halls, and community settings. She enjoys connecting with audiences of all ages and introducing them to the beautiful and unique sounds of Korean music.

 In her Class Notes Concert, Soojin Lee will introduce the gayageum and explain how it produces sound. Students will learn key characteristics of Korean folk music and move to rhythmic patterns common in Korean music.
