ABOUT THE PROGRAM

What: The Class Notes Teen Council is a brand-new initiative to be piloted in the 2025-26 school year. The council is designed to help young people connect to and shape the future of classical music.

Working closely with MPR staff, members will participate in a variety of activities and projects. Activities might include concert attendance, playlist building, learning about studio recording, providing feedback for YourClassical MPR, writing concert reviews, self-driven project work, and council team bonding.

Who: We are looking for students in grades 9-12 who are passionate about music, are curious learners, and community builders. You do not need to be a musician to apply, but we do encourage applicants to have an interest in classical music.

When: This cohort will meet once a month between the months of November-April. Selected applicants are required to be at the mandatory orientation at MPR headquarters in St. Paul on November 10th from 5-8pm. Applicant availability for future meetings will be collected at the bottom of the application.

Questions: Please email kcondon@mpr.org with any further questions about the program.
