STEP-BY-STEP instructions

  • Take the instrument out of its case.

  • Put the mouthpiece in the horn.

  • Give the mouthpiece a small quarter turn. Don’t apply too much force!

  • apply a light oil to the gaps in the rotors, arm joints, and springs, slides to keep them from getting sticky.

  • After practicing, empty the water that collects from playing the horn.

  • Clean your mouthpiece using the mouthpiece brush and store it in its pouch.

  • Swab the main lead pipe section as needed to keep it clean.

  • Return the instrument to its case.

  • Every couple of weeks, take off the valve caps and apply a little oil.
